Gina Galati, Lyric Soprano
With triumphant performances of her Gilda in the New Opera of St. Louis's production of Rigoletto , Gina Galati is moving into the National and International spotlight. Having received a Bachelors of Arts and Sciences degree from Washington University and a Masters degree of Opera from the University of Kansas , Ms. Galati earned an Artist Diploma from the Academia Verdiana in Bussetto , Italy . During this training period she performed numerous concerts throughout Northern Italy . Since then she joined the Young Artist Program of Wichita Grand Opera where she performed the role of Musetta in La Boheme . In 2006 she was awarded a member of the Young Artist Program with The Atlantic Coast Opera Festival performing Nedda in I Pagliacci and Norina in Don Pasquale . In 2007 The Atlantic Coast Opera Festival cast Gina in such roles as Lisette in La Rondine, Desdemona in Otello, and Mimi in La Bohème. Ms. Galati has also performed Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and The Countess in The Marriage of Figaro . She will be singing the role of Pamina in the Magic Flute with the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival in their upcoming season.
