Colombian Organist Jorge Eduardo Garcia-Velasquez received awards for his performance in Russia ("Magnitogorsk" award) in 2001 and Ukraine ("Lemberg" award) in 2004.

As protégé of Maestro Bernhard Gfrerer, Jorge Eduardo studied Organ at the School Musical in Salzburg where he moved after finishing his studies of Piano, Guitar and Trombone in Colombia.

Jorge Eduardo had a prolific time in Austria. By the hand of Maestro Andreas Weber he studied Piano at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Then he moves to Linz where studied organ and piano at the University of Bruckner with Maestros Nikolaus Wiplinger, Margit Heider and August Humer. Also in Linz he studied Piano accompanist and choral directing at the Bruckner-Universität in Linz.

Another artistic facet and passion of Garcia-Velasquez is Drama. He studied drama at Ottensheim with Master Anatoli Gluchov and theater "theatertabor" in Linz. Jorge Eduardo holds also a Master from International University of Valencia, Spain on Performance and Music Research.

In Colombia Jorge Eduardo Garcia-Velasquez studied at Instituto Popular de Cultura, Antonio Maria Valencia’s Conservatory, and Universidad del Valle. One of his biggest mentors was Maestra Alina Sandoval, and his parents Composer Rodrigo Garcia and Colombian Singer MariaVe (Maria Victoria Velasquez).
